KUNG FU PANDA FANFICTION : Po's Win
The Furious Five - Tigress, Monkey,
Mantis, Viper, and Crane and the mighty Dragon Warrior Po, brought peace to the
Valley of Peace. It has been many years since Tai Lung disappeared and hasn’t been seen. Everything seemed to go well for the Dragon Warrior Po until Shifu's messenger
Zeng, the duck, flew in with unpleasant news... A new challenge for the Dragon
Warrior.
Po untied the message on Zeng’s leg and slowly unrolled the message. His paws shook with worry. A new rival has appeared. His name was Ang. Also a panda bear like Po. The message wasn't long but had impact.

First of all, congratulations on
becoming the Dragon Warrior. I have heard you have defeated Tai Lung and your Kung
Fu skill is outstanding. The rumours say that you opened up a whole new
generation of Kung Fu. Therefore it would be a great honour if I could have a
chance to meet you in person, talk about the future of Kung Fu and if I may, a
Kung Fu battle on the day of full moon, next month.
Of course Po knew about Ang, the master of many great
warriors. He earned great respect from the people who defend Kung Fu against
other martial art supporters. Po heard he was very passionate about Kung Fu and
dedicates his life to it. Po sighed with great worry. How could he win Ang?
Although he was the ‘GREAT DRAGON WARRIOR’… that was just a title. For the
people of Valley of Peace he may be a hero, but he knew he was just a panda who
fell out from the sky. New generation of Kung Fu? How could the words get
twisted in such way? There is no new generation of Kung Fu. Po’s Kung Fu skills
were basic survival skills like climbing trees to get the fruits for dessert
after 30 bowls of noodles.
Shifu and Po went into a tough training. Although the
training system involved Po’s ego to retrieve food, Shifu was happy with Po’s
progress. He could see Po was getting better and better at Kung Fu. However at
the back of Shifu’s mind, he was still worried for Po. He too had heard about Ang.
Many of his childhood Kung Fu friends (now Kung Fu masters) brought up his name
at reunions. Ang was truly acknowledged by his friends.
Time flew very fast and the day Ang is arriving came. As
the sun rose behind the mountains, Zeng came flapping his wings.
“Ang is here! Ang is here!”
Po stood up from his chair and forced his legs to
move. His legs felt heavier than ever. His bedroom door flung open and Shifu
showed up.
“Master Shifu?”
“What are you still doing here? Aren’t you going to
greet your own guest?”
“I was just on my way.”
“We have prepared a guest room down stairs next to the
dining room and there will be a feast tonight for Ang. Now run!”
Po was pushed out of his room by Shifu. When Po was finally
at the entrance of Kung Fu palace, Ang was already standing at the gate. The
worn out cape around his shoulders showed how tough the journey was. Po slowly
walked up to him and bowed with great respect.
“Welcome to the Valley of Peace. My name is Po. Let
me take you to where you will be staying.”
Ang slowly took off his hat and his cape. Po couldn’t
dare looking at him and kept his eyes on the ground.
“Thank you. My name is Ang and it is a great honour
for me to actually meet you in person”
Po couldn’t believe his ears. The man who he had
feared till today had a very soft lady’s voice. Ang knelt down to make eye
contact with Po. Po hasn’t seen any Panda like Ang. His jaws dropped and his
tongue fell out. Ang has the silkiest fur Po has ever seen. The pattern of her
black and white fur was amazingly compelling. She had the finest body that a
panda bear could ever have. The person Po has feared to battle with was female.
Ang looked like she couldn’t even hurt a fly.
“YOU are Ang? But… you are a girl!”
Po finally managed to spit out some words. Ang didn’t
look happy with his choice of words but seemed used to this kind of reaction from
people.
“Yes, my name is Ang.”
Po got himself together and toured Ang around Kung Fu
palace and to her guest room. Through the day she went on and on about Kung Fu
but all Po heard was the beautiful melody of her voice and all his senses were
shut down except his eyes. Even one blink seemed too long to take his eyes off her.
He has fallen in love.
Many days passed since Ang arrived. Since her
arrival Po’s love for Ang and grown so much. Po called Zeng and asked him to
invite everyone of Valley of Peace to the battle. He planned to propose to Ang
on the battle court.
The day of battle came. Everyone came to watch the
battle between two great Kung Fu worriers. The two pandas got into their
positions and bowed. Po looked around and raised his paw up gathering everyone’s
attention.
“Before this match, I would like to ask Ang one
question.”
“Will you marry me Ang?”
Ang looked very surprised. But she too had feeling
growing inside her. She nodded.
“I will.”
Everyone in the audience was shocked but soon was
cheering and congratulating Po and Ang.
There was no better day for Po.
